we got a project and my boss assigned that project to 3 of us employees. I am the least experienced once so I don't get much things as fast as the others so my boss just talks to them and don't even try to explain stuff to me :/
I feel alienated and also feel like I am not a part of the team. I am on libera.chat whole day sitting there doing nothing, it doesn't feel great though.
I am wondering if I should utilize this time and write something but eh I am lazy so I don't do anything productive.

Which kind of project? I am mostly working at Industry so cannot help much if it is computation and stuff, but I am experienced with workplaces.
Most of work is this way when you are inexperienced. You WILL feel alienated, and most bosses don't care to teach and/or coworkers are not receiving enough to give you lectures and the attention you need. Sometimes, the other workers will intentionally alienate the new member to sabotage him and so he cannot steal their place.
My advice is: BE HUMBLE. It happens, it is just a phase. Keep studying, keep reading manuals and books related to what you do. It will pay in the future and help in the present.
In the right time, you will get the pace.

the project is about converting a php site into a Odoo site, we had to do all the transition and import the data into new site etc. I am grateful that they at least gave me the work of importing the new data, however I don't feel more involved I just ask them where we are going or whatever the progress we have made but that's it. I sit here all day browsing Lemmy or Gemini.
Odoo is the old OpenERP that chanced name, am I wrong? Why would you convert something into this? To get data?

I don't know why our client wants to do it maybe because they no longer wants to maintain their PHP site since it's more expensive to pay php developer than a Odoo developer you could get from something like India.
Revolution is never good when you already have a working system. They may be wanting to maintain the usability or compatibility for old users, perhaps?
Think about it, most people are functional digital illiterates. If it was MY system I would like to change less the system and maintaining the interface because I doubt the staff have the capacity and will to do a great change.
