depends what and how you share

I mean sharing just you experience about something without an real account. something like Reddit or Lemmy where there is not personal info given.
I like gopher to share my personal stuff. No anonymous by any length but a small enough audience to be able to be vulnerable in my sharing. For surface web stuff, I just don't share.
I used to. I try not to. I don’t believe anything good comes out of it. It just puts you and your family at risk in the long run.
It’s ok to privately share things with people who seem genuinely curious about your well-being, but I wouldn’t broadcast it publicly if I could help it.

@johano is right, it depends entirely on what is being shared and how. Posting "I ate a sandwich today" is extremely low risk. Posting "I love sleeping from 23:00 to 06:00 with the door unlocked at my home on 123 Street St. in Townsville Statesota! Who else takes muscle relaxers?" is probably something I wouldn't share.

I am in the same boat as @daruma. I feel free to say what I think and share personal information about myself here. I don’t really post anywhere on http(s) though.
Obviously, I wouldn’t go as far to dox myself like @softwarepagan advises against. But if I was having a dispute with someone and wanted an outside opinion or even some place to just vent I think here might be a good place to do so.

I was asking because I share my schizophrenia experience with the world on Lemmy. I don't share any personal info there *just* my experience. how safe or unsafe it could be?
@random2934 People have been identified from writing styles and hobby horse issues across platforms and had physical location doxxed from the weave of carpet and positioning of air vents in a room cross referenced against homes previously on Zillow.
That was before AI.
If you want to share anything, I think it is best if 70% of what you are saying is lies and made up random crap to confuse any attempts.
You never know what you say today that will make you a target tomorrow.
I think it's really important to share our life online as sharing the experience really bring us closer together and also helps other, but yeah, as far as being identified and being traced back, there's always a chance, of course. I think it's important to just share what you're comfortable sharing and some instance of forums might give more of a private access or something that's behind a login wall.
