I certainly do. I love to read this bbs in 2-3 days, It's not even as active as Lemmy which isn't as active as Reddit but still I like it. I like that whatever I write here *will* be read by someone. I always get useful and informative replies from others :D

Has been my perception as well. I really like we have genuine content here vs content farming on bigger platforms.
I like it is a simpler tech stack as well. Full of interesting projects with it. I think about exploring gemini protocol more when I have time.
Agreed. The text only features also help to minimize infinite scrolling, even when doing Fediverse over Gemini. You read it all, reply, and go back to doing other productive things.
If you miss Lemmy you can find fragments in gemini://hd.206267.xyz/outbox/lemmy.world/c/asklemmy :)

I much prefer the culture here over Reddit. It could be a result of the size difference, but I think Reddit’s poor culture is a result of the public karma, post history, and upvote mechanic. I haven’t had a Reddit account in a decade or longer, but from what I’ve seen the site is generally the same.
I can’t remember the last time I saw people directly attacking each other on here or Station. And Station even managed to survive a thread on abortion.
People might argue back and forth about different ways of solving a problem or whether something is even a problem, but it’s not like Reddit. People go back and forth on the topic instead of digging into post history to find some stupid excuse to label and attack the other person instead of offering help or discussing ideas on their merits.
It’s how online forums used to work before everything went to shit.
Reddit has been overrun by bots, especially on certain big subreddits. Whilst stuff like Karma farming, reposting was always an issue; there were many interesting communities as well. But Reddit then introduced it's new UI [which is a disgrace because it makes browsing with keyboard/RES impossible and a waste of space], shut off most third party clients.
Moderation has always been an issue as well, resulting in a funny thing where people can get banned simply for posting in other subreddits.
I'm a little late to the game, just found BBS a few days ago. But I did have a summer off of my usual internet interactions. Always fun finding all the new stuff the community has created.
I actually like the emought of engagement we are seeing on Lemmy. Enough topics, enough posting, no karma, very few bots. There are still some niche topics that aren't there but I can see within another year or so Lemmy will be a viable Reddit replacement.
What I like about BBS and geminispace in general is the community is vary small but still active. There isn't enough content to have to look here more than once a day. It allows me to get my fix without turning into doom scrolling.
