Just found out it's going to cost an extra £32 per month in bus fares for me to go to work :(

@martin I guess the impact depends on how full or empty ya glass is. On the one hand it's only a quid increase, on the other that's 50% so... I guess we should all bear the former in mind and forget the later as we drink our 1p cheaper pints (whilst somehow still actually paying more for them because someone forgot to factor in various costs been passed on to the consumer.) · 1 month ago

sarcasm* at least if you average 2 pints of hand pulled ale a week you can save £1.04 over a year using R.R. math (minus the price increase from the brewery passing on the coat of increased wages and employers NI contributions.) · 1 month ago

Public fare prices in most countries are getting absurd. It is so absurd here, that it is cheaper to buy a car if you ride every day. · 1 month ago

the main thing i remember from my time living in london was how awesome the busses are and how expensive everything is in general. that was as recent as 2020/2021. so you say life in the uk got even more expensive? holy cow! · 1 month ago

Is this from the new budget? I heard they’re increasing the daily max to £3 now, in a budget that’s meant to be aimed at “working people”. · 1 month ago
