Another reader recently gave the detailed pinout for constructing an adapter for using Disk ][ drives with the Apple IIc. May I suggest a simpler solution to using a 20-pin Disk ][ on a IIc db-19 port: JAMECO ELECTRONICS sells for $3.95 an adaptor: 20pin female to 19pin male, identified specifically for the purpose of using the Disk ][ drive on the IIc. I do not yet have this adapter, but I have just ordered four of them and expect to get them in about two weeks if they are still in stock.
