This is my wip, a mechanical keyboard with a boox tablet, running android, (termux, fdroid, meshtastic, uxn, lagrange, koreader) with a LoRa Radio connecting trough bluetooth. I haven't had a change to really get this device on the LoRa network as there are no mesh around here. This is the next development needed.

Bluetooth keyboard?

I went with a cabled keyboard, I feel like the speed, and the battery managment is less if I don't run all these battery powered device. I've used a flat cable to tuck in nicely in the casing too.

Looks pretty cool. How much do the components cost? Which boox tablet is that? Regards

@mimas2AC my BOM with appx price in CAD

- Boox Poke 3 (250$)

- Mech keyboard with swapable switches (50$)

- Battery pack (40$)

- LoRa WAN with Antenna (35$)

- USB C right angle flat cable (10$)

- USB right angle adaptor (10$)

- Logitech Keyboard soft Case (20$)

I already had a flat battery pack, and I found the keyboard soft case in a garage sale (for 25Cents). Also keep in mind you can use any newer ebook with USB C to connect to the wired keyboard. The flat cable is only used to minimize the ammount of wires floating around. For some reason the usb C to usb C able doesn't work for the kerboard + tablet.

this is great! I have also set up my boox ereader with a keyboard and termux for command line work. what do you use uxn for?

👺 daruma [OP] · Nov 17 at 04:53:

uxn is mostly for fun. I really like dev and rek from hundred rabbits and I try to install uxn on all my platform. Maybe one day I'll code for it, but for now ot more for entertainment .
