Subject: The definitive answer to the apple//c PC connection by serial cable ! From: "Gianni Barberi" <gianni@unforgettable.com> Date: Mon, Nov 16, 1998 1644 Message-id: <72qdo2$lb0$1@menelao.polito.it> After much debate and suggestions in the newsgroup I finally connected the two and they're talking fluently via ADT. The answer is the most obvious: just connect Transmit Data to Receive Data and viceversa. Join Ground as well is a good thing, but I did transfer ADT on my Apple with just 1 wire ! I found it in the most empirical way: shuffling the wires till some garbage came on the screen. So I discovered as well that Apple used his own numbering on the DIN plug, a very wise move: probably we all would be using Apple now if they just followed the standards. Here are the connections, you can read the pin numbers on all the plugs. Apple // c DIN PC DB9 PC DB25 5 2 3 4 3 2 2 5 7 That's All Folks !
