I love all my animals, but those guinea hens have got to be the stupidest animals on earth. They panic more than the chickens. They're kind of ugly too. But, what is a hobby farm without a menagerie?

Absolutely. Fowl of all kinds are great but rather ugly especially up close

I disagree with them being ugly, there's a certain adorable quality to turkeys, and especially quail.

They -are- stupid as hell though in a domestic sense. There's a switch in their brain that seems to turn off if they're raised on a farm.

Even that's endearing, in a roundabout way.

Oh, and endearing and ugly are not contradictory

Oh yes. Quite endearing! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I have them. They just remind me a lot of Heihei.

Good aggresive watch dogs if you need a lookout for predators, sometimes too good and too loud most of the time. But very good eating :)

My neighbors down the road have some. I didn't know until I was heading to work one morning at 60mph and there was a fat gray bird in the road. I expected it to fly off. It didn't. Started waddling slowly off to the side but too slowly. After feathers flew, I looked back at their yard and saw many more fat birds of multiple colors which is when I knew what they were. If that one in the road was any color but typical wild bird gray, like the Boer goat colored one with white body and red head, I would have slowed down way earlier.
