The global geomagnetic conditions reached moderate storm levels (Kp 6+) since 15:00 UTC. The geomagnetic conditions locally reached minor storm levels (K BEL 5) since 12:00 UTC. The geomagnetic storms are probably the result of the ongoing arrival of an interplanetary coronal mass ejection (ICME) related to the CMEs which lifted off the Sun on October 04. Further minor to moderate geomagnetic storm conditions are possible in the upcoming hours.

An X2.1 flare was detected, peaking at 19:13 UTC on October 07. It was produced by SIDC Sunspot Group 257 (NOAA AR 3842). Coronagraph data will be analysed when they become available, to determine if any associated Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is Earth-directed. Further X-class flares remain possible.
