A new school building has been approved by Kildare County Council for
St Farnan's Post Primary School, Prosperous.
According to Construction Information Services (CIS), Planning
permission was granted to Kildare and Wicklow Education Training Board
on December 13 2024.
As part of the €15.3m project, there will be demolition of the existing
school building and the provision of a new two-storey 1000 pupil
school.
This will be comprised of a four classroom special education unit;
multi-purpose hall; general purpose room; general classrooms;
specialist classrooms; social areas; library; administration areas;
service yards; external stores; covered storage areas for construction
studies; toilet and changing facilities; and associated ancillary
accommodation, all measuring 11077.3 m2.
The development also includes the provision of new site entrances; car
parking areas; drop-off areas; new site boundary; new ballcourts;
playing pitch; landscaped external areas; and all associated site
works.
The architect for the project is McCarthy O'Hora and Associates.
