Knobbly is a small PCB hosting a RP2040 micro-controller devboard and eight rotary encoders. It is designed to run a simple CircuitPython sketch implementing a MIDI client, sending CC (or Control Change) events to a MIDI host.
This is useful for musicians, of course, as MIDI is the Music Instrument Digital Interface. But many other types of programs implement MIDI as a control interface as well.
It's been designed so you can have many Knobblies connected to your computer at one time. It *might* fit in a Euro Rack bay. I think I've got the dimensions on the holes correct. But your mileage may vary. And it is probably too tall for that anyway.
MIDI CC messages are used for ... changing controls.
Depending on your MIDI devices, the different Channels and Message numbers might mean something. Or they might be your oyster to play with as you see fit.

Personally, I'm interfacing my Knobblies to VCV Rack, a Eurorack emulator software, so I'm completely open in what CC's I use for what.
Mostly, I make noise, unfit for human consumption. But sometimes I find something beautiful in the bits. I'll link it if I ever get the urge.
