I am in a little public garden, waiting for my daughter during her piano lesson. The month reaches its end and weather and time made quite difficult for me to manage a Roophloch session. As it is the last day, I take this opportunity.
I took with me my old Asus eeePC 900 with Debian and i3. It is a quite slow device and I didn't realize that sun will be a problem on a non-luminous screen with a dark theme. I don't have time to change the theme and write the phlog entry, so I don't see very well what I am writing.
The device itself was for me a revelation when it appeared in 2009. It was the first time I saw a cheap mobile computer that was so easy to put in your bag. It came with a Linux OS now disappeared, Xandros. If the idea of putting something easy to use and not too different from Windows was nice, the system was quite limited and I put Lubuntu only a few weeks after purchasing. But the important fact was I had a second computer at home, without Windows on it, and it helped me a lot in the idea of leaving Windows without the risk of being stuck during Linux installation.
Later I gave this computer to my 5 years old daughter. She made it fall, damaging the articulation of the screen, but it still works. These days, when I don't use it for Roophloch, I use it to program and connect my Arduino board.
