Christmas and New Year’s to encourage footfall in the county’s regional
towns.
People getting their holiday shopping done can avail of free parking in
Ballinasloe, Tuam, Loughrea, Clifden, Cleggan, Athenry and Gort this
holiday season.
The free on and off street parking will be available from 11am each day to
get more people into regional towns for their shopping.
In addition, Galway City is currently operating its Christmas Park and
Ride service to make it easier for people to get into the city centre.
The shuttle service will run from Saturday, December 14 until Tuesday,
December 24 from Galway Racecourse to he Fairgreen Coach Station.
Buses will run every 15 minutes in both directions Monday to Saturday from
9:30am to 9:15pm.
On Sundays, the service will run every 15 minutes from 11:00am to 7:00pm
and every 30 minutes from 7:00pm to 9:15pm.
Fares are €1 per person each-way. Children and pensioners travel for free.
All-day parking at the racecourse is included in the bus fare.
