From 2021-12-05 to 2024-09-02, I ran a chess service over Gemini. Players could sign up for an account, invite other players to matches, and play asynchronously, similar to chess by post.
I have decided to retire the chess service, as I lost motivation to maintain the underlying CGI acripts and add features that were needed or desirable. This page will stay up as a landing page to avoid breaking links.
Some people have requested that I share the source as it was. I am currently cleaning up the source, which had a lot of hardcoded ata in it, and I will share a link on this page when the cleanup is complete.
As of June 2024, there is another chess service over Gemini at Spool-Five. You can play at the following link:
