Blondie goes to work

King Features attained a great deal of press coverage by announcing that Blondie would get a job (her own catering business to be precise) in September after 61 years as a housewife, starting with a Sept. 2 Sunday strip in which she shows a reluctant Dagwood a cost-benefit analysis. Writer Dean Young told Knight-Ridder Newspapers, "We thought it might be beneficial for Blondie to bring in some extra income. It lets her spread her wings, and besides, it gives us a whole new area of material, some really fresh and relevant stuff."
