I hate politics and everything that comes along with it. As someone who likes to discuss, organize and make decisions I used to think I'd be a great politian.
But reality shows me that only the loudest people with money get into it through bribes and pushed agendas from 3rd parties.
What happened in the US election is happening here in Europe too. Extreme Right parties are getting more and more votes...
The scary thing is that people do not seem to know what voting for these parties implies.
I'm guessing they are voting for them because they are frustrated with the world as it is and other parties here have a "cordon sanitaire" where they NEVER EVER govern with those extreme parties.
While this seems like a good thing, it means that those extreme parties can only yell what other are doing wrong and can never be caught doing something wrong themselves. This makes them seem like they have the answers to everything.
Most people are probably only voting for them because of their loud immigration policies and them blaming all that's wrong on minorities. They probably don't realise that those parties also come with abortion bans, women back to being housewives, undermining LGBTQ rights and many more nasty stuff.
It's starting to seem more and more we are back to the 1900's and building up to another World War with all that is going on.
I really hope we can turn the tide and NOT make that same mistake again.

- Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
