Chapter 7 - The flat limit of imagination
During the genesis era, there were still people who believed the earth was flat. Just a very few had the oppertunity to even see the black celestial sky during daytime, so the belief of a flat earth was still present in those who didn't know better. It did had become common knowledge that the earth was round, although not that long before the genesis era. Approximately just 90 epochs prior.
The discussion was still ongoing, lets dive straight into the most common arguments in favour of logic:
As we know, the shape of the moon is a sphere. For a flat object to appear as a perfect circle for 2 different viewpoints, it must be oriented the same compared to each individual viewwpoint, while those viewpoints differ in orientation from eachother. This is impossible, or unelaborational as of the time of writing. To be interpreted as a perfect circle the object has to be far away, as the human eye is really accurate in detecting visual irregularities.
If Luna is almost covered in shadow, it means the solarays cannot reach our surface, Which indicates that the solarays are blocked on their path by Luna, indicating that the source is behind Luna, or with a Flat earth, would be hovering somewhere above Luna, always probably. Not explainable, just like lunar eclipses would be.
How small can visible curvature be before it is not visible anymore? And a small visible curvature does not mean no curvature, but it can mean a part of a larger invizible curved area. This puts a limit on the claim ''there is no curvature because I cannot see one''
Because it would mean it would face the bottomside of our flat plane. Which means we cannot rely on models that present the sun as staying always above the plane. (hovering above)
In the flat earth model, the sun and moon hover above the surface, contstantly. What prevents it from falling, where everything else does? (apple, spacecrafts, piano, olympus monts, quantum computers, gyroscopes)
There are alot of celestial objects visible during the night, none of which are documented in the models of a flat plane. Where would they be? Between us and the domw? That is really little room for so many stars and nebula etc. If they are painted at a celestial dome by god, he surely painted something that exists right? The orion nebula isn't a random gibberish that god drawed right? Comets even move over time and dissappear, how is that possible?
Some argued that with a glass dome lens the solarays would bend so much in their trajectory on penetration that they didn't reach certain parts of a surface (only the focal point trajectory will be lit up) But then, the image of anything whose solarays have to pass the glass-'air/vacuum' boundary would be distorted asswell (reflections should also be vizible) And for refraction of this kind to play out, there has to be a density difference between two mediums, vacuum or air/glass, but with density comes weigth. How can it hover above us?
How is this possible if we all see in the same direction? If the stars move counter clockwise, why would my neighbour see them clockwise? No he doesn't. The same would apply for a friend thousands of miles away on the surface, but he actually does see the celestial objects move clockwise. How?
One obviously gets alot more solar intensity, to the point where there shouldn't be any ice. The edge of the plane is supposedly covered in ice like a big wall. How high would it be? How far away would it stretch? Alot of ice it is. How is the aqua prevented from breaking trough?
