Terms of service

The data that you upload to Geminauts is yours and yours alone. You give us permission to use that material solely to do what's necessary to provide our services.

The data that you upload to Geminauts must comply with our Terms of service as well as any third party's terms of service and applicable law. You are solely responsible for the content of the files you upload and assume all risks associated with them. We reserve the right to remove the files you upload to Geminauts or suspend access to your account in the event that we become aware that your uploaded files violate any of Geminaut's terms of service.

Below is a list of prohibited activities which may result in your account being suspended if you are found to be participating in, but not limited to the following.

violate any laws, regulations, ordinances, or directives.
do anything threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, tortuous, or invasive of another person's privacy.
store or use our services in any way, including by hosting or sending files, in support of malware, phishing, spam, and similar activities.
engage in any conduct that inhibits anyone else's use or enjoyment of our services, or which we determine may harm Geminauts or our users.

Privacy policy

Files that you upload to Geminauts are publicly available at your domain through the geminauts protocol.

Private information about you such as email address and time zones are not shared with anyone but you.

Email policy

Geminauts will not distribute your email with anyone. We may contact you for two possible reasons.

Service emails: These are service related emails which include authentication and notices of events that affect you. These cannot be opted out of.

Marketing emails: These will include updates to Geminauts. These emails are opt in from your account settings.

Third party policies

Geminauts uses Backblaze B2 to store capsule data. Because of this, files that are uploaded to geminauts must also follow the terms of service for Backblaze. You can view Backblaze's most up to date policies at the links below.

TLDR

We do not take ownership of your files, but we may remove them or your account if you are uploading illegal content or are a nuisance to the community.

We don't share any of your data with anyone unless you have uploaded it to your capsule in which it is public.

We will only send emails to you that relate to important information about your account. If you want to hear about updates to Geminauts, you can sign up in settings.

You will also need to follow Backblaze's terms of service, which if you follow Geminauts, then you are good to go.
