It's been almost three weeks since I went to the festival I talked about in my last log. It was fantastic, despite the rainfall that had turned the festival grounds into an enormous puddle of mud. And despite that one elbow that somehow found its way to my eyesocket with considerable force during Pendulum's performance (my eyelid is still a bit bruised. Pendulum was great, though). And despite the fact that at least half of the patches on my black battle jacket came undone.
Apparently my mom is a much better seamstress than I am (or her sewing machine is), since all the patches on the sleeveless vest stay on just fine. I tore off some of the patches that had come undone, and I decided to reinforce the patches that remained, by sewing all of them again with a whip stitch, next to the running stitch that I usually sew them on with. At least removing some patches gave me the opportunity to redecorate the jacket a bit, along with some new patches I bought at the festival. Sewing everything with a whip stitch is a tedious task, since it takes a lot longer to sew and there are more patches on the jacket than I thought. I might treat myself to a basic sewing machine for my birthday.
I ended up taking out the helix piercing anyway. The rook is still infected, though. I have no idea what's causing it or how to get rid of it. I never sleep on it, I clean it regularly, and it can't be the material, since it's titanium. I'm not sure if I ever want any more piercings, it seems as if they constantly get infected. I did book an appointment for a new tattoo, though. Haven't had any problems with tattoos, yet.
On the somewhat bright side, I finally told my boss that I felt bored at work. He said he was glad I told him, and if I was interested in learning how to write technical documentation, or how to use the pick & place machine. And that there were some projects I could work on, too. I hope I get to work on all these new things soon, I'm done with reading news sites at work all day.
