Checking in – September 2024

This month went by so quickly. Things are moving too fast for me to handle a lot of things.

Health

I'm starting to get a little bit worried about my continued weight loss. Sure, it's great to not be overweight anymore, but I keep losing grams every day and my appetite has become alarmingly small. I think a little bit of it might be because the rice in the dinner is getting a bit tough and dry and not tasty, but that can't be all of it.

In any case my weight is now struggling to stay above 65 kg. That sounds pretty good for some people and it is for me too, but I haven't seen this kind of drop since the last time that happened, and it was the Bad Times when I get totally debilitated from stomach problems.

And what comes out on the other end is also distinctly liquid too...

Japan trip

A week or so ago we went to Sapporo for a holiday. It's been a great time and I think everyone had a great time out of it.

Although Sapporo is pretty good with its public transportation, compared to the rest of Japan it's not really convenient, and the train network is somewhat poor. So for the first few days we either took the bus or went on foot, and the latter half we rented a car. We ended up in places that we would otherwise not been had we stayed with public transportation, and also managed to return to places that we can't get to at the start of the day.

We also spent a bit of dosh on shopping. For me, that means that I snagged a few pieces of stationery that I would otherwise not have had the ability to buy, and also getting next year's planner book for just over half the price it would otherwise cost if I bought it in Hong Kong.

The food was alright, but it was surprisingly bad; I'm genuinely surprised that I finally found something that is too salty for me to eat, but the salt ramen famous in Sapporo is just that.

Overall, that was an enjoyable experience and since I planned it through it, it at least shows that I can get something through.

I have lost my pedometer and a few pens and the pen case they were in during the trip. I have replaced them afterward.

Others

Owing to the points above I haven't done very much else.

Update: I do have one thing to complain about actually, and it's that my AC is currently very weak and can't keep up with the current heat even if the weather is fairly cool. It's not doing /nothing/ but it's bad enough that I can't sleep some nights because of the residual heat. Not much I can do...
