// As slow as a 300MHz Pentium II from 1997
So I've heard but its really slow like unbelievably slow Debian's APT takes forever to install anything so i would not recommend Debian or Raspberry Pi os for this device,
For Terminal use the rpi1b+ is fine most terminal applications like Lynx, htop and even some games run fine in the terminal, But once you run graphical applicatons the CPU has a very hard time you will need to run very lightweight software. It can only really do one thing ata time and i would recommend running at most 768p.
Alpine Linux: This is what i would recommend if you going to use it as a server or a terminal based "desktop". As i have not been able to get a GUI to work with hardware acceleration.
DietPi: Runs ok, but the apt package manager is super slow.
Rasperry Pi OS: Is to much for this board, the Lite version works a lot better but still isn't great.
KODI: Works but slow and won't handle anything beyond SD.

Use Alpine Linux with Terminal applicatons for a General Computing Experience.
