oxalate dumping while traveling

I was briefly out of state and slightly further south than usual. I wanted to stick to my diet, but I had things to do, so I went from 3:30 a.m. one day to 8:00 p.m. the next before I was able to eat again. And my food of choice was some chuck roast that I cut into tiny steaks and cooked in a tiny air fryer in my hotel room.

It didn’t have as much fat as I was used to, and by the second day my skin started to look a bit… inflamed. I thought maybe it was the hyper-chlorinated water wreaking havoc on my system, as it cleared up later in the day, only to recurr the next morning and then clear up again.

Now that I’m home, I’ve discovered that consuming considerably less fat and having that brief fast caused me to drop about 4 pounds. My new theory is that my skin issues were the result of dumping oxalates that had been stored in my recently burned fat.
