There are several guards. The guide is mortally wounded. Description of what Kendra sees as he dies, basically goes to heaven. I'll figure it out.
The Gtar guards are different. They cannot be killed by spear or gun. Kendra fights then on the spiritual plane, so it is much much different from the fights earlier in the book. These Gtar cannot be seen... they have transcended the realm of the physical. Only the guide, and Kendra, can see them. Their "spiritual bodies" have a much more sinister look, reddish, glowing, but dark, black eyes.
