I am currently experimenting with a public internet TV over the rtmp protocol (which you can use in VLC, mpv, and ffplay). It will play Computer Chronicles, Sherlock Holmes, and other public domain shows and movies.
You should now be able to stream it via the rtmp link below. VLC is recommended.

Note: RTMP is one of the most popular protocols for streaming, along with HLS and DASH. RTMP acts as both an upload and download streaming protocol, allowing one to publish a video stream to a streaming server with the same protocol that clients use to download the stream from that server. RTMP remains common for upload, but HLS and DASH are the most common for download.
