Today I migrated out of pinboard, mostly because I think the creator is a transphobe weirdo.
Rather than go to another centralized service, I wanted to look for something self-hosted: I went with linkding because it looks minimal enough, and was actually pretty easy to set up! Can recommend for anyone looking to self-host.
As part of this I also updated my linkblog updater[1] (the script that posted this very post!). The linkding API is quite straightforward and also has a separate notes field, which is useful as I can now keep the default description while writing my post in the notes section.
Next will be to figure out what extensions / shortcuts work best to use it for new bookmarks. So far I like how speedy it is.
