so been playing a game called Gunfire Reborn recently - it's a furry shooty randomized roguelike that's *super* addicting. anyone else been giving it a go lately?

Ripple — This is a game I made a number of years ago, but I realized I only ever really got feedback on it from close friends, and I'm curious to see what folks at BBS think of it. It's a deceptively simple game I think, in that you can understand the rules easily enough but the difficulty ramps up to "impossible" very quickly. A game never lasts longer than a minute I don't think. My high score ever is 13, post yours below!

Disco elysium is VERY disco So I got obsessed with disco elysium again, and I was wondering if someone else had checked it out! I’m absolutely in love with the way the game portrays it’s world, and how it describes everything in it.. It’s such a well, beautifully crafted game!!! I could spend hours talking about it, but I’ll just say that my favorite stat is Inland Empire, lol ~🐛

Bought a PS Vita, looking for game recommendations — Does anyone here have experience with this console? I recently bought one because I was looking for a secondary handheld (Steam Deck is great but there's no way I'm fitting that in my purse or pockets). Probably going to be using it mostly for homebrew but since I have it I was wondering if there was any good native games for it? Helldivers — Is anyone playing Helldivers? My son and I are having fun with it, but it's quite hard with two players and not super fun playing with randoms ... maybe a Gemini squad? :) we most often play 6pm-9pm central european time.

alright gaming chat! let's talk about that Nintendo Direct! lot's of interesting stuff to be sure, but the biggest things? that new Zelda game (can't wait!), and most importantly, we're FINALLY seeing Metroid Prime 4! it's been quite a while since we've heard anything about it, and seeing a trailer is so good. so! was anyone else hyped with today's Direct? what are you looking forward to the most?

Dwarf Fortress — Dwarf Fortress is so much fun. It's complex enough to warrant lots of replay, and really lets you imagine and enjoy the world-gen for the fortress you're piloting. Unless you're playing the steam version, it also really scratches the ASCII itch. Reminds me of the good old days with nethack, alphaman, zzt, megazeux and the like.... but as a game with modern levels of depth and scope. Plus there's all sorts of cool thoughts there about what constitutes an emergent story, or...

backlogs I've been making a major push to work through my backlog. It's been really fun revisiting these games I enjoyed but put down for one reason or another. I've got a massive backlog, so my goal this year is to work through as much of it as possible and purchase as few new games as possible this year. Got anything big on your backlog you've been meaning to get back to?
