Is there any linux mobile experience that doesn't completely suck? I like the idea, but for now deGoogled android a la GrapheneOS seems to strike the best balance between privacy respecting and functional.

However, I haven't used Linux on a phone in a long time. Does anyone have any experience with Linux on a phone? Was it usable for a normal person?

i guess that degoogled android suggests much much much better user experience. but i personally do not want to rely on something developed by a monopoly, and perceive android as an authoritarian product.

and prefer to rely on communities that develop not polished, but vernacular (i started using that word) software.

it is obvious that our vernacular solutions won't ever be match to something authoritarian monopoly can make. thank you, but no thank you.

I read an article from someone using a Palm m500 for modern purposes and I'm sorely tempted to try it myself. I actually kind of wish I kept the HP tablet I picked up when they were getting blown out as I loved that version of webOS.
