This is the de facto subspace for all things related to independant magazines, publications, and other jouralistic literature!
(not to be confused with smolzine, which is a separate geminispace-related project maintained by kelbot)
We invite you all to take part in a community-organized project in which we will produce a regularly sheduled release for an internet and print pubicized magazine!
@daruma and I have decided to take on this subspace as a way to facilitate the process for getting our own community-organized zine project off the ground, first originated within a pubnix chat, now expanded to include the greater range of the smallnet!
It's also a way to invite others to promote and post updates about their own zines, making outreach for contributions, garnering attention for articles, and all things related!
Hope to see more activity grow in this subspace soon, and there will be a dedicated thread related to the zine project daruma and I are working on soon. Thanks. :D

Yay! We have a working title of My Smol Life, and we wanted to gather some of the fringe and more obscure part of the net, including permacomputing, gopher, gemini, moo's and mud, tech-minimalism, livecoding, creativity, music, poetry etc... to name a few. We'll post more detail as we go.
Flipperzero and I have also been jaming on aNONradio and really connecting with that medium. I think he also agrees that there are still beautiful oasis of internet life, while the surface web has been overtaken by AI generated marketing content and information capitalism. In a way this new zine is about celebrating technology, a technology that helps us being connected, creative and evolving.
This is a great project. Couldn't have picked a better name than "My Smol Life" !

I've been working on a project to write 100, 100 word short horror stories, in three time periods 100 years apart. If you want some filler let me know. It's a work in progress but I'd enjoy the feedback.
