The city is watching, and sees nothing.

A flower grows in a bucket of tiny
Precisely machined, corrosion-resistant ball bearings
The bucket was left out in the rain.
A beetle burrows into railroad gravel.

An ape comes down from the tree.
It has decided the tree is a stranger.
Now the ape ties a stick to a rock.
The stick tells it that the rock is an unnatural creation.
Ants practice architecture underfoot.

The stick fails to notice its own characterization and completely misses the point.
