@eph My brother in Christ, are these the symbols you're looking for? 𝀀 𝀁 𝀂 𝀃 𝀄 𝀅 𝀆 𝀇 π€ˆ 𝀉 π€Š 𝀋 π€Œ 𝀍 π€Ž 𝀏 ...and would that work in plaintext? It appears in amfora just fine. found it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Musical_Symbols here... Β· 4 months ago

@half_elf_monk I think there are very few fonts that support the Unicode characters required for Byzantine notation, and I’m not sure if they’re even included in Unicode yet. I think there was a proposal in the early 2000s for their inclusion. Β· 4 months ago

@eph, I've gotten a few accents through vim ( :digraph gives a list of what ctrl+k + [keycombo] can produce. It'll make accented characters and what looks like kanji to me, but nothing as complex as byzantine notation. BUT: if I can see you posting emoji in my terminal browswer, why not some kind of other characters? Β· 4 months ago

@half_elf_monk, Pascha this year is May 5. I'm not sure why there aren't so many ecclesiastical resources on Gemini, I think it would be perfect for a low-overhead method of getting texts and hymnography. There's little support for musical notation, and Byzantine notation support in plain-text is a far-away dream πŸ₯². Β· 4 months ago

Godspeed. When is orthodox easter? Also, why aren't there more full texts of ecclesial things on gemini? Β· 4 months ago
