Iāve been a fan of Suzanne Kraftās (aka Diego Herrera) previous releases on Melody As Truth, most of all his 2015 label debut Talk From Home. This earlier work would generally fall under the āambientā classification, although it was quite a bit more structured than the genre tag would lead you to expect.
About You is in a different category, more akin to artists that became prominent during the so-called chillwave era, circa 2009. Nevertheless, thereās something very fresh sounding about it, and while the vibe might recall that previous era, the production quality is not lo-fi. Several of the songs, like opener On Our Hands, and Waiting, are especially hooky. Perfect for late afternoon enjoyment during the Indian summer.
