A partial-halo CME was first seen in LASCO/C2 data around 23 UTC on March 17th. The CME was related to a filament eruption near the south-west limb and has an approximate projected speed of 800 km/s, although the velocity spread is rather wide and the exact speed can differ significantly. The bulk of the CME is not Earth-directed, but there remains a minor chance for possible shock or glancing blow arrival in the UTC morning on March 21st. In case of arrival, active geomagnetic conditions can be expected on March 21st with small chance for isolated minor storms.
