IT IS hard to believe the summer is almost over but the organisers of
the annual Kilteely-Dromkeen Festival have a packed schedule to
brighten up your weekend.
One of the highlights is an adult and juvenile fancy dress party in the
hall on Saturday evening at 6.30pm.
Chair of the organising committee, Tom Jones said last year they had a
record number of entries.
“It was fantastic that the mums and dads got dressed up along with
their kids. We would love this to continue,” said Tom.
Earlier on Saturday is a juvenile GAA blitz and fun activities in the
GAA field from 11am. After the fancy dress party is the skittles final,
face painting and talent show, and live music in Ahern’s bar with Fifty
Shades Band.

After a lie-in on Sunday morning, a dog show takes place on the school
grounds. The hotly contested tug of war is on at 4.30pm and Nightfall
will play live on the street. Appetites will be sated with a big
barbecue in the allotments from 6pm.
The festival will conclude with a draw in Ahern's for a monster
raffle.
Tom said that following Covid-19, it is so important to motivate local
and surrounding communities to mingle and get involved again. He and
all the organisers of the Kilteely-Dromkeen festival look forward to a
big turn-out from the parish this Saturday and Sunday.
