Defending solicitor Matt Byrne said the defendant found the card on the

ground after it had fallen out of the injured party’s pocket when she

was shopping.

He added she had a number of friends with her and “there was some peer

pressure.”

He also said the defendant had family members with her in court.

He said he believes she deserves a chance and she had brought €200 with

her as a charitable donation or to be given to the victim.
