music spotlight - puppy angst

This is a unique music spotlight post! This could've been a toot. And it will be. But this is more just calling out how fucking random discovering new music can be.

I've been finding and exploring really cool music by talking with friends, listening to the radio, or apparently just browsing dice.fm for local shows and seeing the band name "puppy angst" and thinking "That name fucking rules omg". And turns out! So do they!

it's like puppy love but a lil more sad 🐕 shoegazy/dreamy fuzz pop; kind of fun kind of a bummer

They're seriously sucha bummer but their dreamy compositions really just set a vibe that I am so here for. Finding this during what has been an emotionally turbulent time in my life. But also one where I am letting music really fill the hole inside me; finding a band like this where lyrically they share so many feelings I've felt and musically just feel like a wash, a hug, just a cushion of sad clouds holding you.

Listening to their latest album "scorpio season" every song I find myself texting a friend I shared them with like "omg did I write this song?" "jfc! this is sucha viiiibe!!!" "aaah!" (am I annoying?)

But yeah. Check them out! The quote from their bandcamp really says it all. Indie dream pop with a lot of angst, depression, sadness, and gorgeous vocals.

Maybe I'll make a piece where I actually delve into this album a bit more. I'm still not mentally in a place where I can devote that type of brain power to something? Repeat tracks and really formalize thoughts the way I do in say my slow pulp spotlight.

But gosh. It's nice to post about something other than my depression eh?!
