It's increasingly clear to me that common wisdom is a losing strategy in this world of accelerating change. The normal way politicians are "supposed" to campaign and win is a local maximum that's *far* below the strategies that haven't been seriously explored yet. The same goes for the way we do things in software; for all their talk about "disruption", the Silicon Valley techbro magnates seem astonishingly ill-equipped to cope with said disruption as it blossoms into fruition. Everything old is being made new; the old order is visibly crumbling before our eyes. The idea of history "ending" has *always* been nothing short of ludicrous idiocy. And the idea that such organizations as the USA and NATO will make it to the end of the century, still existing and recognizably so, is disputable at the very least if not outright naïve.
