I wrote some time ago about managing my capsule via hugo and an ugly deploy.sh script.
Today I decided to change things a bit to have a cleaner way of managing my capsule.
You can see if you go back to the homepage that it change a lot.
The goal was more or less the same as before:
Instead of using Hugo for everything, I decided to move my capsule generator to kiln, a gemini capsule generator:
By doing so, I now manage my capsule directly in gmi file which was one of the goal of the move too. It is way simpler and avoid a lot of nightmare conversion (for linked files and such).
To still be able to generate a gemini version of my blog, I use a combination of:
The big flaw right now is that images are not yet copied so only a "text only" version of my blog post is available via gemini. But I do encourage people that want to read my blog to read it on the web as it is the target audience.
The other thing I wanted was the ability to list the gemlog posts on my blog feed and homepage. This is where it is still ugly, as for now I have to create a simple .md files for my gemlog posts with the same frontmatter format than my gemlog entry.
I'm going to add in my blog generator script a piece of code that will generate them soon so I won't have to do it manually, but I don't want to today :).
If anything is now broken that wasn't before, just let me know :)
