distracted people in opaque shells

meanwhile i'm in one of dante's hells

but the view is grand

& i can hardly stand

people have felt much worse

& experienced more

i'm enjoying the fight

& the flowers in this war

a great big fuck is what he once gave

now you'd be hard pressed to find

him alone without his mind

working full tilt & still behind

help this man if you see him

if you believe people can change

that people should be the same

that nobody should be lame

if both our phones would have died

we would have been lost

we're not as advanced as our fathers
