A few days ago, maybe a week, it occured to me that my favorite festival is only a few weeks away. I immediately pulled my numerous battlejackets out of the wardrobe, to add even more studs, spikes and patches. I keep a list of all the modifications I want to do, and bands I want to get patches from. Some patches are hard to come by, or don't even exist at all. Sometimes I make them myself, by painting the logo with fabric paint on a piece of black fabric, sometimes I bite the bullet and order it from across the world (I ordered a Linkin Park back patch from a shop in New Zealand once).
I have four jackets right now, with another two on the roadmap. A blue jeans vest, a black jeans jacket, another black jeans jacket with a hood, and another blue jeans jacket. I tried making a battlevest out of a "vegan leather" jacket once, but the material came undone at the collar. When I bought a genuine leather jacket to replace it, it looked too nice to "ruin" it with spikes. So denim it is.
I'm preparing the first two for the festival. The blue vest was my first battlevest, and it kind of shows. Most patches are from bands I often listened to in high school, such as Foo Fighters, Green Day and Rammstein, with a Linkin Park back patch (the one from NZ) to top it off. I decided to keep the whole vest in a bands-I-listened-to-in-high-school-theme, and have seriously contemplated adding an Avril Lavigne patch, if there had been enough space left. I even had my mom sew on all the patches.
The second jacket is a long black jacket that is a few sizes too big. It has a red-and-black-theme, with another Linkin Park back patch on the back. I had it custom made by some guy in Serbia I found on Etsy. Maybe I'll replace in in the future. I ordered a bunch of patches two days ago to add to this jacket.
My helix piercing got infected really badly (ok, my fault, I shouldn't have tried to replace the jewel before it healed and I think I might have to take it out. They constantly keep getting infected, my rook piercing has been acting up, too. I would have taken it out a long time ago, but I can't get the damn barbell out. Maybe the rook will calm down once I take out the helix.
