My district announced to "maintain" the "Bog Hill" after five years of negligence, which means that it will be overgrazed again to restore the artifical steppe. With the weather provinding ideal conditions with no clouds, weak winds and 22°C (10:52 AM), I took one last trip to do one last observation before this territory becomes a dead wasteland again.

Shockingly, the fallows that hosted hundreds of stinging nettles and just as many A. io and probably more species got cleared after just a few months of existing, having killed the second and last batch of A. io and prompted V. atalanta to migrate to a different zone. The overall vegetation offered little for insects.
While I was lucky enough to have encountered three Colias sp., they were dependent on the very few bluebuttons and the only remaining thistle. Because the only damselfly I briefly encountered last year did not show up at all this year, it may be assumed that this very small population that used to exist at this hill vanished entirely. Dragonflies such as A. cyanea and S. vulgatum, which has been missing entirely across all zones, also no longer show up.
