2022-05-02 - the plague upon our house

COVID-19 found us but we’ve been fortunate to have minor symptoms, and it’s nearly over now.

I read some books, new and old - twin new stories of musicians growing up in Manchester from Barry Adamson and Stephen Morris, and then some old Frank Moorhouse books to wonder how I might reinterpret them twenty years later. What did I learn? Life remains a complex game of chance intertwingled with effort. Old stories can wield an odd influence on your later life, it seems.

Once better, I continued on with this strange energy for home tech work. It feels wasteful to abandon the HP MicroServer, so I’ve revived it for use as an off-site backup machine at a family member’s house. Yesterday felt like time spent just copying data from one place to another, doing other things while I waited. So it goes.
