First impressions with Gemini

Welcome to my first ever post! I am excited to learn more about Gemini and see what kinds of content I can explore. Considering I have no experience with Gemini, I decided that I should begin my exploration of Gemini with some personal gemini pages. I like looking at blog style content and seeing how other people explore platforms, so I thought it would be fitting to look at blogs created by users with interest in the Gemini space. The first page that I looked at was under the mozz.us link (I am still having trouble figuring out hyperlinks on flounder - for some reason I am not able to add a link to that specific Gemini blog, but that just might be because I am not using the right link) ((I also decided to keep this little issue in because it is reflective of where I am at with Gemini currently, but I hope to figure it out soon)).

I like this blog because the user is interested in Internet history and technology, so I am able to learn a lot about different spaces on the Internet and within Gemini specifically. This page has many general posts about Gemini so it seemed like a good place for me to start, and I hope to get into more specific content that aligns with my own interests as I explore Gemini more.

One of the firsts posts I read was similar to the format of this post, where the user talked about their thoughts on Gemini. This user seemed like a reliable source because they know so much about different servers and protocols, so I trusted their opinion and I let that inform some of my impressions of Gemini.

Mozz.us also contains a personal "gopherhole" that the user maintains as a hobby. I was intrigued by the concept, because this user simply maintains it for fun and to explore the gopher protocol. I have come across so many unfamiliar terms through this server, and I try to organize my thoughts so that I don't get confused. It seems like this user runs so many different servers and works with multiple protocols just on Gemini alone, so I wonder how much time is spent on the computer and in the Gemini space. I don't think I would be able to commit to hosting this many servers, so I definitely have respect for this user.

As I continued exploring mozz.us, I found a series of games! I was excited to see what playing a game was like on Gemini, and I started with a game called "Lost Pig". The game was silly and pretty simple, I just had to type in a few things and follow a few links. It was a fun way to explore, because I did not expect to find games on Gemini. I ended up getting so into one game that I decided I should make a whole post about it, because it was so simple yet so fun. Other than that, it seems like I am mostly finding personal blogs and not so many activities, so I definitely have to keep looking so I can branch out into more types of content.
