Today I tied myself to a rope and climbed a 30ft wall. I've never put my life on the line of a knot I've tied before. Indoor climbing does push my comfort zone and makes me learn new things and earlier me wouldn't have done.

I need to write a full gemlog post about why the simplicity of Gemini and the SmolWeb make it accessible. I looked at hosting a website on the pi alongside the Gemini server and was stunned at the bloat and over complexity of serving a static HTML page.

After failing to get Yunohost running on a small form factor PC I decided to go a step smaller and launch a Gemini server on a Raspberry Pi Model B from 2013 that was tucked in the back of a drawer. You can find the result here:

For years my wife has said I'm like the fearful yet forward thinking rabbit Fiver from Watership Down. Tonight as I was messing with the computer she mixed that name with Cyber and Fiber and dubbed me Fyber. It's not a bad hacker handle.

Slow recovery from illness is driving me crazy. I've not been climbing in almost 3 weeks. I miss the mental relief. I've started watching parkour videos and want to go for a run but that's at least another week away.
