Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 18:9

Home

Torah

9 ‎[1] BORN AT HOME. Who was born in accordance with the laws of the house of Israel following the first and second stage of marriage.

‎[2] BORN ABROAD. Unconventionally. Some say that *born at home* is similar to *were born upon Joseph’s knees* (Gen. 50:23). It means she grew up with you in the same house. It is possible that *born abroad* means she is in a different place and a different city and grew up away from you, outside of your father’s house. Scripture next mentions *thy son’s daughter* (v. 10).
