We often have similar views on technology here in the Gemini space. So it would be interesting to know which apps are important to you when using your mobile phone. And which ones you do not really need? I'd be very interested to know, as it could be the usual suspects, but maybe something a little more unusual. Thanks in advance!

I bought a used IBC tank. Picked up 2 with my neighbor with a trailer. The tanks contained biological soil activators, which is not bad at all as I will be using the tank for watering the garden. The small greenhouse still needs to be set up. Then we can get started. What are your plans for this gardening year?

Do you have wine left over from the night before? I use it to make a vinegar base by adding mother of vinegar solution to the wine. I tried this a few years ago and it worked well. For my first attempt, I bought some mother vinegar solution. Now I only use unfiltered organic vinegar that also contains enough of it to start the process. After a few weeks the vinegar is fine. I can only recommend it! Your experience?

So, I was actually really happy with the cheap Casio classic watches, under 20 euros and absolutely sufficient. But they broke recently, just like analog Casio watches. It started with condensation on the display. At work, I switch back and forth between warm rooms with rather high humidity and much cooler, dry, heavily air-conditioned storage rooms. I could imagine that this is the cause of the problem. Now looking for a stable replacement. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a lot at first and would like to test it under working conditions....

A little while ago I was interested in an infographic about various web(protocols), including the Gemini protocol. I didn't manage to find a specific graphic again. But I stumbled across this one and wanted to share it with others. Link: https://diagram.website/

Somehow funny but also sad: cannabis will probably be legalized in Germany. However, you are not allowed to consume it within 100 meters of schools, sports facilities, kindergartens and the like. The result looks like this on a map (red areas prohibited). Take a look at the city center of Berlin. It's not my topic, but is something like this supposed to be practicable? Is it done similarly in other countries? https://bubatzkarte.de/ Greetings

Dot matrix printers: Does anyone else use a dot matrix printer under Linux (maybe Debian). Would like to buy a used one and would be interested in recommendations. E.g. specifically which drivers work / out of the box too. I need the printer for an experimental art project ( digital drypoint etching). Thanks in advance.

Gemini Server Hosting. There are some three or four topics on hosting a gemini server on my own Rasspberry Pi or alternatives. 1) Setting up a Raspberry Pi, 2) Setting up a Gemini Server and put content to your Capsule, 3) Connect to a DynDNS Service and online. For most topics I find tutorials here on Gemini. But I do not find a tutorial explicitly for hardening the Raspberry Pi for using it as a Gemini Server. Aren´t there still a lot more things to consider before getting online with the Gemini Server? Thanx

I am interested in your opinion. I know a lot about edible insects from a scientific point of view such as ecology, biotechnology, distribution and trade, etc. pp. I have sometimes eaten something with insects myself, mostly muesli bars. Do you eat insects, do you cook with insect protein? Do you know people in your circle of friends who regularly eat insects? I haven't yet. Could you write your opinion on this? Thanks

Need help! There was an infographic about the Deep Web/Dark Web/Big Web. Gemini/gopher/small web were also included in this particular one. Unfortunately I can no longer find the graphic. It was shown in a blog or a video about the small web. Does anyone know this graphic and know where I can find it? Thank you very much indeed!!

Maybe someone feels addressed: "Calling all off-gridders, frontline gardeners, fastidious foragers, community-facing survivalists, radio geeks, degrowthers, organisation theorists, seed bankers, disaster researchers and dumpster-diving technologists! I wonder if anyone uses the Mastogem proxy to read on Mastodon. Does this make sense at all, what advantages and disadvantages do you see in it? Would interest me times. Have a nice weekend together!

Looking through old backups from the last 10 years, I clearly come to the conclusion that I've stayed pretty true to my interests. I'm going to pull out some old PDFs and look at them again. Feels good.

Is there actually access to a bookstore catalog in any form via gemini? That one can query available books? I have seen a few REST API , eg: www.booklooker.de or also via different book search engine via Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I'm not quite clear from a technical point of view how to implement something like this. Ideas?

Is there anyone who does archery? I tried it a few times about 2 years ago, but stopped due to lack of time. I really like archery, especially traditional / intuitive archery. There is an outdoor archery venue where fire bowls are set up in the evening so you can still shoot at dusk. Looking foreward to buy my one bow. Any recommendations to start with?

Rarely seen such a thing: in the neighborhood were planted new trees (already a good 2 meters high), on a green strip. Today I see that all of them, a dozen or so, have been knocked down or broken off completely. Simply blind vandalism. :(

You never stop learning: i looked at the old industrial complex around the corner, where all kinds of studios and workshops etc. are now inside. the other day i noticed two large olive-colored metal bodies that were stored there. To me they looked like torpedoes or something. A man explained to me now he used these things for his houseboat or raft. They were drop tanks from airplanes. Before that, he used empty gasoline drums for the raft. These are now no longer allowed and he is switching to the drop tanks. He has also found a online seller who specializes in such. I'd love to see the results....

This made my day: a poster for a small exhibition about science fiction in the German Democratic Republic, GDR. In a library very close to our apartment. Can't wait to see what's on display. Took out my old Stanislav Lem (he comes from Poland) books and leafed through them. Should definitely read more books again.

Go fishing with the kids. The last time I went fishing I was 8. Now my oldest son is 8. I am curious if he will like it. And if I still know a little bit about fishing....

I'm still excited about the Gemini community. I like the philosophy behind it, and it gives good ideas on topics I like, especially net activism, technology, and privacy. However, for topics like the history of medicine (MedHist) or even the history of science (Nathist), I'm still looking. Can anyone make any recommendations? Happy to contact as well!

I've been thinking lately about telling friends about Gemini. Some have tried it, but often felt there is not enough content. I felt the same way, but that was probably because I didn't find the capsules that interested me. Have you had any experience with Gemini's recommendation? I would be very interested to know. LG

I'm on a trip, but still planning new projects. Have 1 m³ space in the basement and not far a garden with a bit of space also not used. I would like to use both for a project. I thought of mushroom growing ad hoc. Do you have good ideas?

Gemini Hosting - Tips wanted. I'm looking for a Gemini host that only serves Gemini and possibly Gopher, but does not automatically provide the account / content via WWW. Glad about any advice!
