@n2qfd i have to switch layouts for the umlauts for i am using unix based OSs mostly. german layout is a hell when using them. · 2 months ago
@barvarianbarbarian natürlich, I just don't have a keyset active for the diacritics. It's funny how we lost track of some of our sounds in English locally. We have a town named Lowman, that should be pronounced Louwman and was originally spelled as such but the family gave up on that spelling and it became a shibboleth. · 2 months ago
@n2qfd as a former IT sysadmin/hostmaster english is a common language for me, no doubt. german is a fscking hard to learn language according to my fellow colleagues. to improve your german, it is 'bis später' ä is called a german 'umlaut' like üöä · 2 months ago
