Why is it that most of the projects I do is redundant where I would be better off using something else that a creator has already put so much time and effort into. So much of my time has been wasted from me being to stubborn to even look to see if the things I'm creating has already been done before.

You are completely right. There is something beutiful about having different options available to choose from and iirc ARM was originally created as a reinvention of the processing architecture. I've just become frustrated with myself for killing projects because they end up not being worth my time to continue developing. · 2 years ago

Just to add a different perspective: reinventing the wheel isn't always bad. It's great for understanding the problem better, and there's always the optional to differentiate the solution at the end in some way. I don't mind making something similar to what's out there because the personal pursuit and learning alone makes it worthwhile. · 2 years ago
