I am thinking alot about places to live, and what kind of life i want to carve out for myself. If you dont mind, tell me about what you currently do for a living, as well as what goals you've set for yourself in life. Where do you want to selttle down at, if you had an oppurtunity to, and why?

I work as a software dev, but have just spent an amazing year doing an outdoor conservation course.
The most important thing I have learned is:
BE HERE NOW*
Yes, plan for the future, yes ruminate on the past, yes think about other places and other people, but YOU ARE HERE NOW. Life happens in the present.
Other important things:
- Do what you can with what you have (while trying to learn more)
- Enjoying something is a state of mind (two people can perceive the same event completely differently: AKA events != emotions)
- Work is not the be-all-end-all. You can sink infinite time into work and self-promotion. You'll miss a lot of things that way. · 2 years ago
I'm a software dev professionally, but it's just a job—I do it for the money it provides so I can live. As far as goals, I love writing so I want to write a few books and stories that I'm truly proud of. Currently I live in a very large cosmopolitan city in a small apartment and I wouldn't have it any other way! I love cities, and can't imagine myself living outside one. · 2 years ago
My hope is to make a living creating games and other stuff, and ultimately leave a mark on this world or at least curiosities for people to stumble upon on after I’m gone. Give people memorable experiences as games I played growing up did to me. As for where to live, I prefer a city outskirt, quiet where I live, but close to a city where I can go to events or get stuff I need/want. Not sure what country I’d want to live in or why. They’re all garbage in the end. · 2 years ago
i live in a semi-detached house in a small town. I didn't want the house, but we didn't have options. with kids and work and house, what I want for my life is a finding a balance and being able to sit down, enjoy the starry nights, have hobbies that bring me lasting joy, without sacrificing or neglecting anything · 2 years ago
