I can understand the kids feeling about video games. I played Might&Magic II excessivley as a kid. I even painted a map of the whole world. But I didn't get the same deep feeling about the world when I tried to play it again a few weeks ago on Retropie - but the memories remain :)
You said Riverside is your grow up town. Isn't Riverside the city of the "Riverside murders"?
