You'd think it is easy. Uplug the old one, and plug in the new one. And well, that is pretty much true.
Except I got an Edgerouter-X, and it took some configuring first, and then some configuring on every other device as it had a fit that the default gateway had changed.
Except I forgot about my PiHole. Because it kept working.
Or so I thought.
Youtube on my TV had been acting up... big blank pauses where the ads should have played. Which honestly, is fine with me. Then I ssh'd into me pihole and tried to update. Big Fat Nope. It said dns culd not be found at this time.
WTF.
Same when I tried to update gravity within the PiHole Dashboard. Same deal. Couldn't update.
Eventually I found a couple of posts on the intertubes saying the default gateway is very important for a PiHole setup, so I searched for where to set this... and eventually found it in /var and edited the file from 192.167.1.254 (the old router) to 192.168.1.1 (the new ER-X). And job done.
It all works fine after a reboot.
And now I have youtube adverts again. Fuckin' yay.
